Biriyani by Ramya

cook rice as i said..but 10 mins kalichu eduthu jeera + 2 cardamom + a v.small piece of cinammon sethu cook pannu along with salt...
for the gravy
then cut potato into small piece,carrot-diced,green peas...

then onion finely chopped
tomato 1 finely chopped
mint 4 to 5 sprigs
2 g.cardamom1 tbsp yogurt
2 cloves
1 cinammon stick
1 tsp g.g paste
2 g.chilli(a long slit)

heat oil,add whole garam masalas and then fry onions,when it turns translucent,add the tomato and fry until mushy,add green chillies also..

add the veggies and cook at less than medium heat until veggies are 3/4 cooked,
then add the red chilli powder,garam masala powder(if needed..I quit,bcos..i have all in all alagu rani powder,made by my granny..i use it for evtg any antg) n salt

when the veggies gets cooked add the mint and yogurt(mix 1 tbsp water with yogurt)
and stir well...

little by little mix with rice...

then fry onion(thin slices),in little oil in frying pan until it reaches slight brown color(carmelising the onions)..do a lot of this..this adds a good flavor to the biriyani
