Vendaikai Pulikozhambu by Meena
This is like any other pulikozhambu & easy.
In 1 tbspn gingely(sesame) oil, fry 1/2 tspn urad dal, 1/2 tspn mustard, 1/4 tspn vendhayam, 1 pinch asafoetida, a few curry leaves, 1 tspn manathakali vathal(optional).
Add 2 chopped chinna vengayam, 2 sliced garlic, abt 6 okra cut pieces & fry in oil till okra turns slightly brown, Add salt & abt 1/4 tspn jaggery/brown sugar.
Add 2 1/2 tspn heap Pulikozhambu / vathal kozhambu podi / sambar podi & fry for a min(don't let it burn!)
Add tamarind extrct(frm abt 1 lemon size tamarind ball) & 1 cup water & let it boil for abt 1/2 hour in high heat.
Serve hot with rice!
