Milagu kozhambu
Ingredients:
Tamarind – lemon sized
Coriander seeds – 2 teaspoon
Black peppercorns – 2 teaspoons
Red chilli – 1 no
Channa dhal – 2 teaspoons
Toor dhal - 1 teaspoon
Urad dhal – 2 teaspoons
Hing – a small piece
Oil- 2 teaspoons
Curry leaves 2-3 twigs
Method:
Add a little oil and fry the corriander seeds, black peppercorns, red chilli, channa dal, toor dhal and urad dhal. Towards the end add the curry leaves too.
Grind the above with little water.
In a Kadai, add the tamarind water and let it boil for sometime(Pachai vasanai pora varaikum). Then add the above ground mixture and let it boil well. It thickens on its own so make sure you add enough water. Add salt to taste.
Finally thalichikutungo with mustard, uradh dhal and hing..
This can be kept in the fridge for 4 days :)
