Soothi/cocnut stew
Ingredients
1.coconut grated-1/2
2.green chillies-3
3.potato-1
4.carrot-1
5.moongdhal
6.poppyseeds
7.bayleaf
8.onion-1
Procedure:
1.grind the grated coconut with water and extract coconut milk(this is the 1st milk)
2.to the pulp again add water and extract coconut milk (this is second milk)
3.Boil and keep the moong dhaal
4.grind green chillies with kas kas
5.Pour oil in pan and add bay leaf and onion and fry for few min
6.add the vegetables and grind ed paste of 4
7.fry it for few minutes and add the second coconut milk and let the vegetables gets boiled in the second milk
8.after the vegetables are soft and boiled add moong dhaal and let it boil for few minutes
9.finally add the first milk and allow it to boil for 3 seconds
10.Add salt as required
this dish is not spicy it goes well with ginger chutney and potato fry.
