Cake pops By Shubha

Cake pops

Ingredients :

Ready made cake mix (chocolate) (even leftover cake crumbs if fine)
Chocolate icing - 1 cup homemade or 1 box of store bought chcoolate icig.
Candy sticks ( u can get it in Micheals or any craft store)
Chocolate (i used dark) candy melts - 1 pack

Method :

Bake your cake and cool it. I used the crown n scraps from 3 chocolate cake from my previous order. U can even bake a fresh cake, cool it and crumbled it with hand n use.

Crumbled the cake with hand into a powdered texture. Add the choclate icing to it and kned gently into a dough. U will get a nice cookie dough kinda texture. Make small balls out of this and arrange in a tray. Poke one candy stick in each of the balls. and let it cool in the freezer for like 30 minutes to an hour.

In the meantime....heat the candy melts in the microwave according to the instructions on the package.

Once the chocolate balls r hard... take them out. stir the candy melt mixture well. Now one by one dip the balls (holding the stick ) into the choclate n place on the plate.
Freeze them for 1 hours n ur cake pops r ready to serve. I normally keep them all frozen and take them out and keep it out for an hour or so before eating. Its have more shelf life when put in the ziplock and kept in the freezer. So if u plan this for dessert be sure to keep it in fridge or room temperature before u start ur dinner :)

Tips :

-- When ur sticking the sticks to the balls, it helps to first roll the tip of the stick into melted chocolate and then into the ball. it helps the ball to stay on the stick n not fall of while eating..:) (learnt from experience:P)

-- You can roll the chocolate dipped balls on sprinkles, nuts, coconut or chcolate chips or even crushed potato chips for innovation n presentation.

-- you can use different color candy melts to cover the cake pop inside...:)
