Paneer Makhmali by Archana

Paneer Makhmali

Makkale....this is a very simple paneer appetizer. It is not my own recipe but I surutified it from another forum and tried it.
INGREDIENTS

Paneer cubes - cut into bite size pieces
Chopped onions - 1 cup
Coriander - 1 bunch
Mint - 1 bunch
Green chilles - 4-5
Ginger - 1 inch
Curd - 2 tablespoons
Lemon Juice - 2-3 spoons
Milk - 1/2 cup
Oil/butter - 1 table spoon

METHOD

Microwave the paneer cubes in hot water for 3-5 minutes so that the paneer becomes a little soft. Make a paste of the coriander, mint, green chillies, ginger, curd and lemon juice. Marinate the paneer cubes in this mixture for atleast 30 minutes. Make sure you poke the paneer with a fork so that the paneer absorbs all the flavour in the mixture.

Heat oil/butter in a pan. Fry the onions till they get translucent. Add the paneer mixture and cook it for a little while. Then add the milk and cook again till the milk evaporates. Serve hot.

P.S:- You will not be adding salt to this dish. So make sure you add the lemon juice to taste so that the flavour gets completely absorbed in the paneer.
