Brown Rice Adai by Selvi
brown rice--1 1/2 cup
yellow split peas--1/4 cup
thoor dhal----1/4 cup
yellow squash --1
red chillies.---10(u can increase or reduce acc to taste)
red pearl onions ---5
perungayam --little
salt to taste
Soak brown rice the previous night itself.The dhals can be soaked for 3 to 4 hrs.Grind brown rice first coarsely..like idli rawa consistency with the red chillies and perungayam.Then I used the whipping switch to blend the dhals and onion for coarse consistency.Now mix everything together with salt.Add very finely chopped squash and mix well.Let the mixture stand for atleast 1 hr b4 u use.u can add curry leaves too.Then do like usual adai.
Yum o yum...i used the yellow split peas instead of kadalai paruppu becos YSP has more fiber.u can also use kadalai paruppu if u want.no one can say the difference..he he he..i emathified my Dh and he didnt even have a clue...happy o happy that it turned out gr8..:)...and so sharing with u all...:)
